Our Operations

Anantha Energy (AE) is a start-up ethanol company aimed at producing and marketing bio-fuels in India. Anantha initially plans to build a 200,000 liter per day (19 M gallons/year) multi-feedstock ethanol manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, India.  Unlike corn in the US and sugarcane in South America, the facility will utilize two feedstock which do not compete as food commodities.  Additionally, through our extensive research and alliances with existing ethanol producers in South America, ARE will bring some of the most advanced and proven process technologies to the facility in India.

Anantha Energy has organized an experienced global team of leaders and innovators to address the growing energy dilemma in India.  Anantha is currently in the process of raising financing for its first multi-feedstock ethanol production facility in India.  The facility will utilize sweet sorghum, amongst other crops.

The headlines of India's growth story are well known. India's middle class has more than tripled in size sparking an increase in the sale of combustible engines. The boost in discretionary income has sparked a considerable increase in vehicle sales, creating an increased demand for petroleum.  India currently imports 78% of its oil requirement at more than $100 a barrel, which is passed on to the consumer at a price of $5.77/G. In order to ease the upward pressure on gas prices and reliance on foreign energy sources, India is poised to adopt a widespread plan for the integration of ethanol.
